I love the holidays and all they bring with them - decorations, time with family, and, for us, sometimes vacations. But after all of the excitement, I always enjoy the downtime that comes in January. It's a time to refocus, renew, and, yes, reorganize. I know I'm not the only one who does this in January. One quick stroll through Wal-Mart shows you that everyone is on the bandwagon of simplifying and getting back to business.
For me, this means finally taking the time to get my backlog of photos organized in a way that helps me to find just what I'm looking for when I'm ready to scrap (see Stacy Julian's book Photo Freedom for an idea of the type of system I'm planning to employ). After the photos, the next step is to organize the supplies. I am fortunate enough to have a room dedicated to "my kreative pursuits," but the room has to serve three functions: business, home office, and scrap room. So, although it goes against my nature, I have to find a way to get organized and stay organized, or the room can turn into a disaster area all too quickly.
After all is said and done, I expect to be a high-functioning scrapbooking machine!
I hope that you are facing the new year with some reachable goals in mind for your scrapbooking. I hope I can help you reach your goals by way of monthly classes and crops. Stay tuned for more info about all the fun, scrappy things coming your way from me this year!
