February Class Layouts

This month's class takes a cue from Valentine's Day, in both colors and title work. We used the Tailored collection kit from Echo Park's For the Record line to create these sweet-as-sugar layouts. 

Lots of layers and little touches made this kit great fun to work with. I haven't quite decided what photos I'd like to use. I'm thinking of picking some of my favorites from our annual family Valentine banquet, or I may use some photos of some of the sweet babies in our lives. Goodness knows, there aren't any photos of me sewing! LOL

My Latest Haul

January was a fun month for me, scrappy supplies-wise. I hosted a catalog party for my friend Dee. See, originally, I only wanted something to carry my Big Kick in. I do love to have it with me when I go places to crop.

Then Dee told me about the Sale-a-bration, so I decided to see what was what, and how much free stuff I could earn. Let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed! My friends and I placed an order over $250 (pretty good for short notice, and being right after the holidays), so I got 4 free Sale-a-bration items PLUS the bonus glitter paper they give to all hostesses this month in celebration of their 25th anniversary. So of the items you see in this picture, I only actually ordered the Big Kick Dr. bag (which I LOVE!), the doily stamp set, and the basic label stamp. That's it. The rest I either got from Sale-a-bration items or free hostess goodies. And I've already started to play. Woohoo!

The other order I received this month is for 3 collection kits I'm considering using in some upcoming classes, either local, online, or at the community college.  I got Basic Grey Clippings, Echo Park Hello, Spring, and Crate Paper On Trend. I just think these collections are super-versatile and will make some gorgeous layouts.

What I'm digging from CHA-W

I always love CHA time. LOVE seeing all the new goodies my favorite companies come out with. LOVE anticipating their arrival in stores and, of course, if I'm lucky, in my MemoryWorks catalog!

Here is a quick roundup of some of my favorites, in no particular order:

Crate Paper DIY Shop

I adore the muted colors in this line, with a touch of black and white. I love that the design is pretty all-purpose, and that I can use it with my older, childhood photos or with my more current ones.

My Mind's Eye Remarkable

In this line, I'm loving the bolder colors. I'm always a huge fan of blue and green, maybe because I tend to scrapbook mostly masculine layouts (what with being the only female in a family of 4). Again, the patterns are good for everyday scrapping, and can be used with almost any photos.

 

Little Yellow Bicycle Poppy

Little Yellow Bicycle has become one of my favorite companies in recent years, and I tend to love a lot of their stuff. I just love this new line, even though it uses more reds and oranges (there are touches of my blues and greens, but not many). I'm envisioning lots of lovely cards, and maybe some layouts of my lovely nieces as well. :)

Simple Stories Urban Traveler

Be still my heart! Two of my favorite things in one product line - travel and Simple Stories! Overwhelmingly, most of what I scrapbook are vacation photos, so I'm always excited to see new travel lines come out, and when I find one I like, I try to get as much of it as I can. The way Simple Stories packages their collections, you get a TON of product for your money. Even though I'm not sure where or when my next vacation will take place, I'm thinking I might even be able to scrap an entire album with these goodies.

Cosmo Cricket TV Dinner

Something about this line has really captured my imagination! While I don't tend to scrap a lot of food- or kitchen-related photos, I can see using a lot of the patterns in these papers for other types of pages. This one will be fun to play with, I think, and the embellishments are yummy! (pun intended ;)

Fancy Pants Swagger

I like this line for obvious reasons - those being that I have a husband and 2 sons to scrap about. These patterns are super-versatile, and I can use them with most any photos of my 3 favorite subjects. I also really like the flags and label stickers, and am eager to play with those.
